13th to 19th October
We hope the regular ralliers and some newer ones will join us to see the magnificent Autumn Tints in the beautiful Lake District.
This rally has taken place for many years, but the programme has been changed slightly this year and we are visiting two new venues. On Saturday night it will be The Bryce Institute where we will be entertained by Fiona Hanlon, a popular local singer. Also, the final rally meal has been changed to lunchtime at Carus Green Golf Club so we can take advantage of the fabulous views from the dining room in the daylight. As you see there is plenty of free time to have walks in the beauty of the Lake District in autumn but also for Fellowship and visits to the many attractions around. There is Blackwell House at Bowness, designed in the Arts & Crafts style by Baillie Scott, and well worth a visit. Brantwood House, the home of John Ruskin, the famous writer, artist and social reformer, offers a fascinating insight into his world. Alternatively have a cruise on Lake Windermere, visit the famous Lakeland homeware and kitchenware shop in Windermere or the Lakes Distillery near Bassenthwaite Lake where England’s award winning whisky is being distilled.
The Windermere site is between popular Bowness-on-Windermere and the bustling market town of Kendal. Its location makes it ideal for exploring the varied attractions of the southern Lake District. There are many walks from the campsite
As the programme is provisional, is a guesstimate of other costs to the rally. Those who have booked on the rally will be contacted by email as soon as the menu choices and final prices are available.
