1st to 29th September
A 29 day comprehensive tour of Brittany, because there is no great distance to travel through France to the start and end of the rally, we took the oportunity to have a slightly longer rally than we would normally have. Below are details of the places we have chosen to visit.
Stop 1:- 5 days at Camping International de la Hallerais on the banks of La Rance near the port of St Malo and Dinan.
Stop 2:- 7 days at Camping Sandaya Ranolien will be in NW Brittany on the Rose Coast near to Lannion, Roscoff and Brest.
Stop 3:- 7 days at Flower Camping Cap Finistere on the wild SW tip of Brittany near to Quimper, Concarneau and Douarnenez.
Stop 4:- 7 days at Flower Camping Le Conleau on the Gulf de Morbihan near Vanne, San Nazaire and Nantes.
Stop 5:- Back to St Malo for 2 days before returning to Portsmouth and home.
There are several options for you to reach the start of the rally, you may wish to take the short channel crossing to Calais and drive around 280 miles south through Normandy maybe stopping for a few days on the way. You also have the options Cherbourg, Caen and Le Havre.
The 1st stop is only 18 miles from the port of St Malo and the outbound ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo is overnight. Cabins have to be booked, the inbound voyage is during the day so no cabin necessary. The return fare with caravan and car with Commodore cabin and all meals on both legs works out at £1100 Flexi fare with 75% refund if cancelled. Cheaper options are available.
